The Old West or Wild West is the epoch that took place during the 19 century, including for example the american civil war. During this time the United States expanded from coast to coast. The nation grew from an agrarian society to an industrialized nation. It's name therefore comes from the campaigns made by the government in order to conquer and poblate the areas in the west. During this campaigns many incidents happened such as the construction of new railroads, construction of new towns, gold mining and new industries all this created a boom, which atracted not only people interested in the progress but as well hoes and criminals looking to take their share out of it.
